Windows XP has set the default mouse pointer / cursor with the shadow, and that's really nice. But its is pretty annoying (sometimes, specially if I am editing a photo or draw with CorelDraw) and don't worry, Windows XP has been provide the option to remove the shadow.
Just going to Control Panel then double click the Mouse icon. Click Pointer tab and uncheck Enable pointer shadow checkbox then click OK button.
And pointer shadow has gone.
